We provide donated new pajamas to women living in shelters. In addition to pajamas, they receive a customized scripture card with a personal note and prayer written on the back. The ultimate goal is for these women to feel special, loved, and cared for – not just by others – but by God. I was lucky that my cousin married an amazing woman. Over the years we have raised our families together. I also am fortunate enough to have one of those friends from 1st grade that I can always call, no matter the time of day or how long it’s been since we last talked.

    • My great friend is Marion. We’ve been friends for 16 years, ever since our middle daughters started Junior Kindergarten together. She’s not a believer but I keep praying, I am praying for a Christian friend who I can be as free as I am with Marion. I want a friend with similar values.

  • My special friend is my sister, Lirio. She is my best friend and she always encourage me to trust God with all my heart.

  • My sister is my best friend. She always nanages to put a smile on my face and is there when I need a listening ear or encouraging words.

  • Helen is my best friend. She is always there during the good and the bad. She knows when to give me a hug when I need one, be silly with me when the silliness pops out – which it often does with us, she knows when I just need to “be” with her and most importantly she is a fabulous listener. I could not ask for a better best friend ever – she is like a sister and I thank God for her everyday. I hope that I can come even a little bit close to being the best friend to her as she is to me.

  • I subscribed to your awesome blog. I’m so glad that I found you from Proverbs 31 Devotional!

  • I just completed my 3rd entry! I went and “liked” all of the sponsors pages. Wow – what fun stuff!

  • …and now for entry # 4 – shared “I just entered to win The Great Friendship giveaway at http://www.nickikoziarz.com!” on fb and twitter!!! 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity to win such great treats for me and my best friend – especially since she just moved to Colorado from Washington State and I’m missing her like crazy!!

  • My special friend is Susan. She lives in TX, I am in AZ. We have been friends for 25 years, I miss her terribly. We recently had a misunderstanding on FB, so thankful that we never think of un-friending!! Blessings!

  • My special friend is my sister. Don’t live close to one another but are always there when needed. Thanks for your words today.

  • Your devotion touched me, I found it through my “blog login” I didn’t even realize you wrote for proverbs 31. So then it took me to a giveaway on your blog site. I didn’t realize you had your own blog. So I will be signing up for your blog, I will be liking on the sponsors, and I will be Facebook in and twittering and getting all of my entries … But that aside. I came to know you on Made to crave and Action Plan. And while reserved I felt I caught glimpses of you! In your devotional today, it hit me smack in the heart, my aunt and I have become intensely close in the past 2 years and her love for me that first year let me love myself enough to change myself, and now I want to love her that much back, but she has to want the change for it to happen. But God will show me the boundaries and though it may be painful I love her. And she is my friend. I’m thankful that I found your devotion on a mailer I usually don’t even open… And I’m glad I’m getting to sign up for your blog. Thank you for sharing your life.

    Blessings
    Kelly Smith #58

  • My special friend Name is Vinu…. WE have shared a very special bonding for the past 3 years….. we have had misunderstandings in between and few months back, we had a major one…. But we tried our best to keep the friendship going though it was not like before…

  • I have a good friend Betsy who always is there for me. Even when I am ridiculous, grouchy, silly or just done in the dumps! What a blessing to have her in my life.

  • I have a great friend cristina. We have grown up in the Lord together for the past 13 years. She loves me even when I don’t love myself and I love her the same way. We just keep watching God use us and strengthen us.

  • My special friend is Melanie. We have so many laughs together and heart to hearts. What I love though is that we sharpen each other. She is one of the few friends that has the guts to not always say what I want to hear…she tells me what I need to hear to be a better Christ follower! I love that about her. Being friends with Mel is a a blast but also holds me accountable to walk the talk. Love her!

  • My special friend is Susan. When I was seeking a deeper understanding of Jesus in my life she was there, sharing her journey and answering my thousands of questions. She has been there through thick and thin. She’s such a strong Christian and a great friend; definitely someone I can turn to at any point in life. I am blessed with her friendship.

I subscribed to Nicki’s blog! I met Nicki through the MTC OBS series and LOVE YOU!!! Thanks for sharing your heart and love of Christ with all of us. You are a truly special woman.

Heading over to like the FB page and do the tweet. Thanks for everything!

  • Sheila is my friend I can go to in whether im having a good or a bad day! She listens to me:)

  • Joy is my best (girl) friend. (Next to my husband!) I can tell her anything. She never judges and I can always count on her encouragement…and prayers.

  • My mom, Lily, is my best friend. She has walked with me through life and all its ups and downs. She never expects perfection (cuz Lord knows I am not perfect), always loves, always hopes, always supports, guides – you name it … she’s great! Love her!

  • Patty has been my best friend for almost 40 year. We have been separated many times due to life’s circumstances but have always been reunited. We can talk about anything no matter how many weeks, months or years between conversations nothing changes. She loves The Lord and I could not imagine my life with out her.

  • I have two best friends. One, my sister, has invested in my life all her heart and soul. She loves her family like no one else I know.
My other friend I’ve had since seventh grade. We still talk twice a week even though we live in different toens. I keep up with her family, she keeps up with me.

  • Good morning!! My dear friend Cathy is one I have called to cry with and share prayers with. I’ve learned over the years that I have different special friends I can call to depending the circumstances. I have Cathy, Heidi, Amy, Lynda and even my sweet mother in Love, Sherral. This post just reminded me how blessed I am.

I am already subscribed to the blog 🙂

  • Tweet/fb did it thank you all so much for donating these things. You each are precious.

  • This was great and delivered right on time. I don’t have many friends but I do have one very special friend. Julie. I bet she doesn’t even know how much she has helped me both emotionally and spiritually. God knew what he was doing when our paths crossed. Thank you for this friendship post.

  • Needed to hear that this morning! Thank you! Just subscribed!

  • Nicki! How fun! I want to praise the Lord for my sweet friend JODY CAMPBELL! She has been my running partner for three years now and we have shed many a tear and told many a story on a five mile stretch of pavement over the years. She is moving to Indiana at the end of May and I am going to miss her so much. I am thankful for the time the Lord has allowed us together and look forward to a life-long friendship with her still.

I subscribed and shared and liked all of the vendors for 4 entires! Thank you!

  • My bestfriend is very special to me. Her name is Amie and we became friends in kindergarten. We’ve been through a lot together including her loss of her dear husband to leukemia this past August. She is an amazing friend and mother!

  • Marie & Dale – they have been with me since the beginning of my walk with Christ.
They encourage, support and love me.

  • Donna Davis has been my best friend for 20+ years I’m so glad I found your website!

  • My best friend April is so much like my sister. She has always been there for me through so many trails. We are so much alike that we even look Alaska. People have actually thought we are sisters for years.

  • My best friend , Kim and I have been friends since college. We have been through so much together. In our journey, we have celebrated our weddings, the birth of our children, the baptism of our children and countless more events. We have also traveled through the terror of her breast cancer, and are currently leaning on one another during our journey with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and aging parents. God truly blessed us with an ageless friendship….sisterhood.

  • My best friend is my husband. We will celebrate 25 years of marriage this year
And through thick and thin, smooth and rocky, high and low, I love him more today
Than ever! He is such a Godly man and a great example for our 2 boys!

Hopefully I can figure out how to subscribe!! 🙂

  • God has truly blessed me with some absolutely amazing friends but the best friend of all is my sister Ashley. She is my biggest cheerleader, voice of wisdom, my running partner, my dancing buddy at weddings, an amazing aunt to my two stepdaughters, an amazing wife to her husband and a beautiful follower of Jesus. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t thank God for blessing me with an amazing sister but also for my very best friend!

    • I subscribed to your amazing blog, liked all the great FB pages & tweeted the giveaway! 🙂 Yay for great friendships and great blogs! 🙂

  • One of very best friends is Karole. We lived in Slovakia together for 2 years doing mission work after college. I have since married a soldier and so move a lot and she has been faithful to keep up with me. We also have 5 young children between the 2 of us, but manage to chat every Monday for 30 minutes. She is one of the biggest blessings God has given me. I love her so much. I think I’ll go tell her that right now 🙂 Thank you for your devotion this morning. It was lovely.

  • I’d have to say my special friend is my mom! I can tell her anything and she gives me great wisdom, or is just a listening ear. She always seems to know exactly what I need to. Yes, sometimes we have our differences but I’m so glad she and I love each other and always work through those times when we hurt each other’s feelings.

      • My great friend is Naomi. We pray together since I had a stroke last August. I have enjoyed her perfectly timed Bible verses for each new trial. Now she trusted me with her tears and I have cried in front of her. When a friend doesn’t turn but weeps with those who weep, she is very special.

  • My best friend on earth is Todd. He is always encouraging me and he is also my love. Jesus is my best friend because no matter what he is always there for me and he will never forsake me.
Already subscribed to you page, liked all pages as well.

Then I also have my sweet OBS sisters who are the greats friends.

  • My dearest friend is Liv. We have been friends for 10 years now and despite living on opposite sides of the world have managed to maintain our friendship. She is a beautiful caring person who I know I can turn to when things are tough. She has just become a mum for the first time recently and as I have 3 children we are now able to share the common bond of motherhood as well.

  • My special friend is my friebd Jenny. She is battling breast cancer (actually going in for surgery this am to fix her double mastectomy which will not heal properly). With her busy schedule of treatments, and my busy life schedule, it’s easy to forget one another in the hustle and bustle. But through thick and thin, and THANKS to social media, we can send one another encouraging words throughout the week.

  • I have a dear friend named Ingrid who moved here to Maryland about 3 years ago and The Lord has just blessed us with a deep sweet friendship. Sadly her husbands job is transferring them to Michigan in just two fast months. My heart breaks thinking of not having her close . She is truly my Jonathan!

  • My sister Gina is my best friend. She gets pretty busy with her family and multiple jobs, and we live farther away than is ideal, but when push comes to shove, she is the first person I would call. She knows me inside and out, always understands, and would be the first person I call to help bury the bodies. JK 🙂

    Thank you

  • My best friend “Luci” has always been there for me since we were freshmen in highschool. That was 50 years ago. We have been though a lot together and even at times when we both had families and worked and did see much of each other, we always just picked up where we left off when we were able to talk. Threw thick and thin, no matter what, she has been my very best friend.

  • I have two special friends, Ginny and Dawn. I’ve known Ginny for many, many years and only met Dawn about three years ago. Booth of them are there for me, to pray for me and to listen to me.

  • My dear friend is Judy. She and her husband allowed my family to live with them when we moved 700 miles away for my husbands job. They go to our church and have become the dearest friends. She is my daughters adoptive grandma and they have a very special relatio.ship. judy has already got me through some hard times in the 10 months i have known her. I dont know what i would do without her.

  • My dearest friend is Sharon. We have been friends for 22 years when I started babysitting her little boy. She has been one of those people I could tell absolutely anything to. She knows things about me I would never tell anyone else. She has stood beside me when I have made stupid decisions in life & has never treated me differently when I’ve done that. She just had a slight stroke over a week ago & is now at a nursing home to receive therapy. She is so young (43) & it is just breaking my heart. Not only because I hate to see her going through such stuff but because of life we haven’t been as close as we used to be & the past couple months I’ve felt I needed to go take her to lunch or something & I’ve just ignored it & now there she lays. I went to see her Saturday & she can barely just whisper & what does come out is all slurred & hard to understand. She has always been a talker too so it is certainly heartbreaking!

I did it all for four entries……whoop whoop! Love you Nicki!

  • My sister is my best friend, I guess that’s why God gave them to us! She is always there for me!

  • My best friend’s name is Heidi. We have been friends for 20 years now. I cannot imagine my life without her in it.

  • This devotion was exactly what I needed to hear today! My special friend is my sister Wendy. She and I are more than sisters we are best friends!

  • Next to Jesus, my mom is my best friend. Nothing I could ever do could separate me from her love. She models graciousness and selflessness to me everyday. She has made me the woman I am today. I thank God for her.

  • God sent my new best friend into my life 10 years ago…about one year after my best friend had died in a tragic car accident. It is amazing how God met my needs when I was still too stunned to even ask!

  • My dearest friend is Linda! We have known each other for 16 years!! We have seen each other through thick and thin. Parents with cancer, her own cancer, kids dating, college visits and even the diaper stage when they were all so little. We live about 30 miles apart now but still get together once a month to catch up and of course pray for each other. Last month we even got together to see Lysa TerKeurst speak! God blessed me with my dear friend Linda!!

  • My special friend and I laugh today as we look back. We are total opposites and we didn’t lime each other at first but God used a year of working together to show us we were perfect for each other. She is there at the drop of a hat. We hold each other up through everything. I am glad God has blessed my life with her.

  • My best friend is my Mom who taught me all about Christ. I can remember her reading the bible to me every day when I was little, making sure I know the meaning of loving one another as Christ had loved us. She has been my inspiration in raising my three daughters who now says to me Mom you’re my best friend (with a phone call every morning saying I Love you Mom). Once you have a foundation about the bible and the Lord you know you live is full of love. I realize your best friend must be alive however my best friend is deceased.

  • I have been blessed with a small group of “girls” that have come together to be my very best friends. We pray and text and exhort and challenge each other to be more like Christ. I’m really not sure how I would do life without them. My sister inlaw is also a huge blessing. One of those people that will speak the truth in love and just gets me.

  • My best friend is Caralee. We have known each other since highschool. She accepts me for who I am and is always there for me. She laughs with me and cries with me. I am truly blessed to have a friend like her!!

  • My friend is Angie. She is a friend who listens and cares for my feelings. We both unrest and each other and we don’t get hurt by little things because we know we don’t truly mean to hurt each other.
    Thank you for your words.

  • God has placed a few women in my life that I am blessed to call friend. I believe they are all unique as are our Individual friendships. For that reason, I cannot choose just one. God has also placed another friend in my life, and more importantly, in my heart. His name is Jesus. This friendship continues to grow slowly, as He knows me very well. He has proven His faithfulness more than once by giving attention to ordinary details in my life. I can’t say enough about His loyalty.

  • One of the best friends I could ever ask for is my mom and sister. I had my first child at 20 and he was born with special needs. Today he is 16 and thriving. I owe her in large part because she was my biggest cheerleader. Shouting loud and proud that “I could do this”, fill these very large shoes. She has been gone for about 2 1/2 years now and I desperately miss her voice. However, it has also shown me that my sister has always been there shouting with her. Now she is loud and proud in her encouragement of me through good times and rough times. So grateful to God for these beautiful ladies. Sorry, I couldn’t just name one.

  • My closest friends are my Petunia friends! We love to spend time together knitting and laughing! We are different in our own way, but encourage each other in our life’s journey. Individually, we have each had different trials in our lives. We continue to lift each other up in prayer and are thankful that we have each other!

  • God has blessed me with Lisa, a dear friend of over 20 years! Our friendship has been one that has encouraged me in my relationship with the Lord and has continued strong even after my family & I moved several states away.

Thank you for your blog today and for the reminder that we need to show grace to each other in our friendships. I am subscribing to your blog and liking all of the sponsors. Thanks!

  • My sister is my very best friend. Sisters…..there are all kinds of sisters, but I have the absolutely most amazing sissy ever! We are quite a few years apart, but it doesn’t matter. I can’t tell you how awesome she is without sharing a little of what we have been through. Without going into lots of details, my oldest daughter succumbed to drugs. For months we battled trying to help her….my sis and I cried, prayed, and she would go with me all hours of the night to search for her. I could call anytime and she’s there. Today, I have custody of my beautiful granddaughters, and my sissy is my cheerleader. Always willing to reach out, pick up, encourage, love, and share with me the good and the bad. She tells me what I need to hear even when I don’t think I want to hear it.

I have watched her grow into a warrior woman for God! Her spirit is kind and loving, generous, and so, so gentle. God created a masterpiece with her….I am truly blessed to call her my best friend.

  • Without a doubt my closest friend is Trudy. What a blessing she has been to me! Through thick and thin, good times and bad, she is ALWAYS there.

  • Subscribed to your blog, so here is entry 2 🙂

  • My husband is my best friend! Also just subscribed to your blog.

  • Donna and I met when we were just 21 and our husbands were beginning their teaching/coaching careers at a small rural school in northwestern Illinois. We didn’t have much money or a lot of possessions, but we sure could have fun together. As time went by, God blessed my husband and me with four children, but that was not the case for Donna and her husband. We were so excited when they accepted our request that they be godparents to our youngest daughter Lindsay. For 43 years we have remained friends. I am so thankful God put her in my life. She has always been there for me. I subscribed to your blog today. I really enjoy your words. My kids say I am the last person left on earth who doesn’t have facebook (I guess I need to work on that.), but then my husband doesn’t have a cellphone. Crazy, I know.

  • After Jesus and my hubby my best girlfriend is Marsha. Two years ago we moved from FL to MI. I so miss our talks, lunches and just sharing. I know even though we live a thousand miles part I can count on her.

  • My very dear friend is Bess! We’ve been best friends for almost 20 years.

  • My husband Scott is my bestie & Soulmate! I can truly be myself & share my heart, thoughts & love with him!

  • I have a very special friend, Shannon. We met our in our freshman year of high school and we are staring our fortieth birthdays right in the eye this year! We’ve had many ups and downs, but we always come back together and stronger than before! I’m already subscribed to your sweet blog. Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

  • My forever friend is Sherri – she has loved me through thick and thin and knows all my weaknesses, we can laugh together, cry together and pray together. I moved to VA from Canada a couple of years ago and I sure do miss our tea times together. Thanks for sharing your blog on Proverbs 31 today, I really needed to be reminded to use that common sense instead of my imagination today in many areas of my life!

  • First, my best friend is Betsy, whom God has allowed me to walk a cancer journey with since 9/10/2012, her diagnosis date. I truly see Jesus in her daily. And when I am feeling low, out of sync with Abba, mad at my kids, etc., SHE is always there for me, cancer or not. This is the closest friend next to Jesus that I can ever imagine! Giving, never expecting anything in return. I am truly blessed. I am subscribing to your blog as well. I would love for Betsy to have a beautiful necklace. Thank you so much!

  • I actually have two besties but one in particular has been an extra blessing to me. God called both our fsmilies to find a new church home after many years serving at our church. It was a painful time but God saw fit to lead our families to the same church. He has allowed us both to walk to same path and be there for each other through this most difficult time. I am so thankful for my sweet friend Donnette. I am also thankful for you Niki as you have walked with me through made to crave and action plan!

  • I’ve got quiet a few friends, all who shine brightly in my life, and set me back on the right track whenever I do ever off chart. But Tiffany is my go to person with enough “common sense” to fill the Red Sea!
Also just subscribed to your blog. Thanks Nikki for your insightful posts

  • My best earthly friend is Marcie. We have been friends for several years now. We have been able to see each other through some tough times.

  • Just signed up for your blog. I have always enjoyed what you share on the on a so I am excited to receive your blog now! My buff is Kristen. Even though she has moved away we connect every morning with a text of encouragement. I PRAISE GOD for our friendship.

    • Love how the spell check just takes over. Should have said I love what you share on the OBS. And not buff but bff! Too funny!!

  • My best friend for 32+ years is my husband–He still makes me laugh so hard that I cry tears! :0)

I’m also loving the friendship I have with my grown daughters! <3
I already subscribe to Proverbs 31, and will be subscribing to your blog as well!

  • Friends since 1st grade (45 years now) Esther will pray with me, listen, laugh, cry. She us always the encourager. Love her heart for our Lord!

  • My college friend Estée! I would love to be able to love on her with some of these products.

  • My very dear friend is Jacque. Your morning devotion was such a gift to my soul because we are in a similar situation right now. Being friends miles apart now, it is easy to not have time for a face-time coffee chat or make excuses to not having time to talk to her. I know that when I do talk ot her I will have to address some of the hurt i am carrying. But… common sense and discernment. Jacque has been by my side for years. We have walked through much harder times and it is only by the grace of Jesus. By the world’s standards, we would have ‘unfriended’ each other a long time ago. She is a friend worth fighting for, an example of how Jesus fights for us, even though we are not easy to pursue and definitely not deserving. What a blessing true friendship is!

  • My special friend is Tiffany. She is my soul sister!

  • I am thankful for my best friend Amy, a true gift from God! I’d love to be able to share these gifts with her!
(just subscribed to your blog, too!)

  • I was blessed with a small group of close friends when I moved to VA. We have been doing life together for some time now and we have been there for each other through illness, family issues, children, broken marriages, achievements and even coming to Christ. Each one of these ladies is unique and special to me. They all have great beauty and wisdom that can only come from seeking The Lord. My friend Kim has been walking beside me the closest over the last year since my young son was diagnosed with Crohns. She has called me every week without fail just to listen. She is a single mom herself so the gift of her time is even sweeter to me. She has lifted me up to The Lord many times when I have been unable. I’m so grateful for Kim in my life!

  • My special friend is Anita. We have discovered over the years how much we have in common and it is wonderful! She accepts me just as I am and never seems to be critical of me. We have great times together. Our biggest bond is our relationships with Jesus. She had to move last year and I really miss her! We are staying in touch, though, and being intentional about getting together in person too.

I’m subscribing to your blog today! 🙂

  • My special friend is Stacy. We met in the first grade and have been friends for 32 yrs now. I can’t imagine my life without her in it. She has been by my side through thick and thin. The Lord has also blessed me with a wonderful sister and a few special friendships that I have made in the last several years with ladies from my church.

  • My precious friend is Louisa. We have been friends for over 10 years. She has moved from where met and moved on several more times since we parted. We still talk and pray on the phone quite often. I am so thankful for a friend who listens, is concerned and loves me, prays with and for me, and to whom I can greatly relate – parenting issues and more. 🙂

The Proverbs 31 Ministry devo today is very timely. I am right in the middle of trying to communicate – via text messaging – about what we are to do this morning. We were to walk, she said she is late, but the messages just aren’t clear to me. Whew! I stopped after reading your devo and reminded myself of with whom I am dealing (discernment and common sense are needed here;) and am trying to be patient. Oh, my. 🙂 God continue to bless you richly. It so neat how God puts things right in front of us just when we need them. 🙂

  • My best friend is Beverly.
We became friends at the suggestion of our Pastor about 7 years ago.
He asked me to reach out to her and I am so glad I did!
She is such a women of God and a true blessing in my life!

  • Nicki,
I have enjoyed seeing you and studying with you in the Proverbs 31 OBS. I am a group 28 member and will be subscribing to your blog. My friend is a wonderful Christian named Liz who I love to do life with.

  • I have 2 good friends. Their names are Sandra and Hillary.

  • I have a very good friend who is always encouraging and lifts me up when my spirit is down. She is a friend through the good days and the not so good days and I am blessed to have her in my life. I have two more very special friends at my office that I could not live without. I love each of these ladies dearly and I hope I encourage them as much as they encourage me. I am also glad to have P31 for my encouragement each morning. I have now subscribed today to your blog after seeing your post on P31 today. I can’t wait to see more!

  • My special friend is Pauline. We met at church and we are both historically reluctant to meet people. Neither one of us has a large group of friends. We truly believe it was God intersecting our paths the way He did so that we would become friends. She is a great person and makes me want to not only be a better person, but a better Christian. 🙂

  • My best friend “deleted” me from her life. I think it was a misunderstanding or just mean-spirited gossip, I’m not sure. At any rate, I’ve tried to talk to her and she will not even give me a moment to speak to her. We were inseparable growing up, but did lose touch in adulthood. It is hurtful to be discarded so easily. She is not a christian and our lives have taken very different paths. I will continue to pray for God’s will.

I subscribed to your blog. I think the videos are awesome!

    • I subscribed, commented, liked all the pages, and retweeted.

  • My best friend is Wendy and we have been friends since 4th grade! Wow, I am getting old (that was 28 years ago)! So thankful to God for this friendship! God has blessed us both!

    Thank you for your ministry!

  • My best friend is Christie, we have been friends for about 35 years. We have seen the best and worst together and somehow come through the other side smiling 🙂 I thank God for our friendship, and pray it continues for years to come!

  • My friend is Sandy and also my mom. I subscribed to the blog and am super excited as I was introduced to you through the P31 bible study, so this is great that I get to still see you on video!!!!

  • My friend is also named Lisa. We not only share a name, we share a birthday. When we met, I was the mother of 3 boys, expecting my fourth and she had two boys, but later had two more boys herself!
One of my son’s shares a birthday with one of her son’s! Our husbands are both in ministry and we both love to teach! God brought this wonderful friend into my life during a most difficult season, (He is so good to do things like that for us!) and we have
been close in heart ever since. Her husbands ministry has moved her away and we do not get to celebrate our birthday together much anymore, but we are always close in heart! I know at any time I can reach out to her and can pick right back up even after long periods of not hearing from each other!! TRUE FRIEND FROM GOD!!!

  • My Great Friend is Theresa. She is always there for me and always gives me sound advice.

    Already Scubscribed!

  • My dearest friend has stuck with me through thick and thin since we were in jr high together…. her name is Kim. We have been through life’s ups and downs…. marriages, babies, deaths, and everyday life. We can speak honestly to each other and know that we each have the others best interest at heart. Can’t imagine doing life without her. We don’t talk every day but when we do it just picks right back up where we left off. Thank God for friends like that. 🙂

  • I am incredibly blessed to have a friend such as Anna. She moved to another state but I know that our prayers and love transcend the miles, though I miss her presence. We have laughed, cried, and laughed until we cried, eaten, cooked, prayed, worshiped and just hung out together. We have been there for each other in wonderfully good times and amazingly difficult times. I admire her faith and love of Jesus and her insatiable thirst for God’s Word and study. She has lived with Parkinson’s for as long as I’ve known her, and I see how God’s grace has sustained her through this disease. If I win the drawing, I would be so happy to share the prizes together. I will subscribe. Thank you for your devo today. I so treasure my good friends – they are worth more than gold.

  • My best friend is my husband. I know that he will always be there for me, taking care of me when I need it, giving me space when I feel crowded. He is the one I can talk to about anything. He won’t judge me or belittle me. He is always encouraging me to do my best, not matter what. I just hope and pray that I am as good a friend to him as he is to me.

My best ‘girlfriend’ is my sister. For several years our mother worked hard to keep us apart, playing one of us against the other. Finally when our father became ill, our eyes were opened and we found our way back to each other. Now we text nearly every day, talk at least once a week, and make plans to be together several times a year (we live 300 miles apart).

  • My BFF who gets me through the day is Renee, aka the HodaWoman to my KathieLee! Her son was in my high school social studies class and he went home and told her, you have to be friends with my teacher! Y’all are JUST alike! The rest is history, no pun intended with the social studies classroom connection! “Hoda” listens and laughs and cries with me and I truly believe that God brought us together through her wonderful son!

  • I have a friend named Kathy who has been with me through every up and down in my life. She truly exemplifies friendship!

I am subscribed to the blog!

I liked the FB pages:) and I tweeted about your giveaway!!! Would love the chance to win this great prize package!

  • My special friend is Shirley. She is my friend, Mentor and like a sister to me. She was my Bible Study Leader in Del Rio, Texas. She would say she is just a facilitator, but she is so full of Gods Wisdom. She is about 15 years older than me but that does not matter. When we retired and moved back to SC we kept in touch. She has Parkinson and her husband is blind and almost death with other health issues. They had to sell their home on the lake and move closer to family. She no longer had the cable email and we had changed our phone number and we lost contact. She and I don’t transplant very well. She recently sent me a card and we have talked on the phone like and emailed and it is like we were never cut off for two year.

When she found out I am not attending church she gently rebuked me and said she will keep after me until I am back in church. I know she is praying for me because I can feel God strengthen me. I thank God for Shirley.

My FB say I have 121 “friends”. Among that number there are 8 special friends who are real friends like Shirley. They are women why are my friend, my mentors and my sisters in Christ. If there are misunderstandings between us, I pray God will give us the discernment and common sense to work through it. I know I can ask them to pray for me anytime. I even called one of them in Hawaii when I taught my first Bible study. I am truly blessed with their friendships.

I have subscribed to you blog and look forward to reading your post. God Bless you.

  • My Best Friend is my sister Karen. We have gone through a lot together and she is always there to pray with me, lift me up and rejoice with me in the good times also. I am so thankful for her.

  • I am grateful for my friend Kay who makes me laugh in difficult times (and in good times) and who always says the right things!

  • My friend is Karina, she checks in with me every week to see how my week is going and always encourages me, I’m blessed to have her in my life.

  • My special friend is Laura! We got pregnant about the same time and that is what really brought us together. That was 15 years ago! Thank goodness for social media; it has made staying in close contact with her easier.

    Subscribed to your blog!

  • Nicki,
I just want to thank you for all your encouragement. I went through the Crave Bible Study with you and have now started Living So That. I am so excited!!! I have many friends that God has put into my life. And I am thankful for each one of them. But my best friend is Jesus. I am so thankful for Him in my life. He never gives up on me. And God is whom I crave. Thanks for all you do for Prov31. Your blog and Bible studies have encouraged a closer walk with God!.
    Thanks, Connie Gildner

  • My special friends are my mom and my sister. Their love, support, and encouragement blesses my life in so many ways.

  • My life long bestie and sister in Christ is my dearest Nelly, she is just amazing and I love her so.

  • God has blessed me with some special friends. Many with very different gifts. One friend I can count on to help me with physical tasks. One friend I can count on to encourage me with positive words. Another friend I can count on to say the hard things. Another friend I can count on for warm hugs when I need one and don’t realize I do. God has surrounded me with a wonderful support group!

  • My best friend is Sue. She thinks like I do, she knows just what to say and when to say it. My life changed when I met her for the first time!

  • My friend Teresa and I have been friends for 50 years. She is one that has stood by and knows me the best.

  • My best friend Brenda – Throughout our 30+ year friendship we’ve shared to much! We’ve fallen in a creek together and lived and laughed to tell. We’ve shared so many dreams – being members of an all-girl band, a roller skating team, cupcake bakers, jewelry makers – and are currently co-authoring our first book together! God has truly blessed me by giving me such an amazing friend!

  • God blessed me almost 10 years ago with my best friend, Sarah. We have been through so much together, have struggled with moving away from each other, but have grown in so many ways, most importantly in our faith together!

    Subscribed!

  • My sister-in-law is a good friend to me. We’re opposites in a lot of ways, which often means a helpful new perspectives on things.

  • I have an amazing friend and mentor Tracy. She is a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and think a lot of her. Now she is taking care of my little one and is so loving.

  • My best friend is my mom. She always seems to keep me grounded and offers great wisdom.

  • Jennifer has been a great best friend for over 10 years. We have had a lot of fun and trying times, but I wouldn’t trade em for anything

  • I have 3 special friends…. God blessed me with them through many trials in my life. We have bonded together to lift one another up, share our ups and downs, to pray for one another and to encourage one another through this thing called life. In this world where trusting others is HARD…. I used to keep it all to myself….. and through an accountability group we have learned that we are safe within the bounds of our friendship. I can count on these girls! Best of all … they love me at my worst!

  • My mom is my best friend right now. She has really been helping me focus on God and trust Him in some really difficult things in my marriage.

  • A few years ago during a two year period I lost some friendships like one right after another not because of anything I had done, but because I believe God wanted different friends for me ( I didn’t realize this at the time ), but it was still quite a shock and I went into a deep depression over it. I prayed and begged God to send me a friend and he did when I least expected it. And the friend that God sent was my friend Lori that I had once attended church with and we really barely new one another, but God sent her to me, because as I would soon find out, she needed me as well. I love her dearly and I thank God for her.

  • My dear friend is LaTrisha!!! She is the reason I have found God and she continues to support my journey with God. I love her dearly and I am so great full that I was able to meet her as I believe God sent her to save me!!!

  • I just subscribed! My best friends are my Mother and Husband. I know God blessed me with the best parents and he allowed me to go from the care of my parents to the care of my Husband!

  • My special friend is Jean. I canceled last minute on our dinner and she was already on the way and is mad at me. She is the one that is every time late so I do not get her anger since I have never done it before and I said how sorry I am, but she is staying silent. Your blog helped me to not give up on her and our long term friendship. I will press on until hopefully her heart softens. I look forward to reading your blog!

  • My dear friend of 36 years is Tami. Though our lives have not taken the same direction, God continues to bless me with her friendship. No matter how much time goes by between our talks and visits, it seems as though we pick up right where we left off. I am so thankful for her friendship and witness in my life.

  • My good friend is Nel. She was first my co-worker and then became my very good friend. She has blessed me in so many ways, and while we don’t get together as often as we would like, we always pick back up where we dropped off.

  • My mom is my best friend. She is always honest with me and loves me in spite of my shortcomings. We have developed a relationship of trust and respect. We still hurt each other sometimes, but I’d rather be hurt on occasion than to not have her friendship and love. The same goes for her, as sometimes I hurt her. We work out our differences quickly because we cannot stand to have anything between us. She is truly a wonderful gift to me!

  • My best friend is Christine. We live 2 1/2 hours apart, but we support one another as if we are living next door. Recently I was looking for an accountability partner, and we have been that for each other. I really appreciate that she is available for me and will pray with and for me without question.

  • Sweetest Nicki,
What a blessing you are! I truly enjoyed your post on the Proverbs 31 site. It gave me lots to pray about this morning! The Lord has been so good to me; I have many special friends. It’s difficult to narrow it down, but I will go with just a few… Amanda, Jamie, Kristi, Veronica and Chessica. We all are privileged to teach and serve the Lord along side one another.

I can’t believe I hadn’t done this before, but I subscribed to your website, and I’m looking forward to receiving updates about when you post. I also liked the Facebook pages of all the sponsors and posted on my own Facebook page about the Great Friendship Giveaway for a total of Four entries!

Thank You so much and MANY blessings to you!

  • My best friend is Krist. We’ve been friends for 25 years and never matters how long it is before we can get together, it’s like we were never apart. She knows everything about me. 🙂 I have subscribed, liked all of the sponsors Facebook pages and shared on Twitter and Facebook. I really appreciate everything you girls do! You rule!

  • My special friend is Kristina! She has seen the best and worst of me and loves me in spite of myself. She’s always there for an encouraging word, a shoulder to cry on, a spontaneous outburst of laughter, or a kick in the butt when I need it. She is such a blessing to me and I don’t know what I would do without her!

  • I just wanted to say thank you for your timely blog post. I’m glad I subscribe to P31 ministries. This entry came just in time as I was struggling with some friendly (or in this case, un-friendly) issues. Thanks for setting me straight.

  • A person who has given me a listening ear and been a friend lately is my sister. She helps me see when my emotions are getting the best of me.

  • I subscribed to the blog, liked all your fb pages that were
Listed and I will tweet it right after this ha-ha Well I will have to say my friend story is very unique my friend Allison and I became friends when were in the 8th grade at age 14 we are both now 35 and still friends, I think I have unfriended her more times in my heart than I can count! We have defiantly had a lot of highs and lows we have been through everything except in different parts of our lives and honestly you couldn’t put 2 more different people that were friends on this planet together as I read your words on your blog about your friend lying and you being so hurt it struck a cord in my heart to share, I normally don’t my point being we were each other maid of honor at each other wedding and both there for our kids being born my Adoption and she was the diary person I called when I almost lost my Mother 7 years ago and she was the first one at the Hospital before I was, and one of the first ones I called when our Adoption almost fell through, she has. Definialty has hurt me over the years more than I can count but she has been my saving Grace just as Many. It’s amazing sometimes the people in your life you want to unfriend can be Gods way of showing me Grace, Mercy, and Forgivness like he has shown me.

  • I am so grateful for my best friend of nearly 30 years. She was my first real girl friend, and we have been side by side for so many life changes through the years. She lives on the other side of the country, but our friendship is as strong as it has ever been!

  • Thanks for your inspiring blog today. I really needed to hear that. It’s funny how the Lord works.
    ~M

  • My best friend is Kati. We were college roommates our senior year and have been bff’ s ever since. I know I can call her any day or time. She is such a blessing!!

  • I have a very good friend named Karen. She and I just seem to understand each other and we enjoy leading Bible Studies together. I always feel that she is a ready listening ear when I need to “talk”. Since she and her husband are in ministry and so as a pastor’s wife I feel comfortable sharing with her. I thank the Lord for a special friend for this season of my life.

  • I am so glad I found you from proverbs31! My best friend is Kristin! I am so thankful that God put a wonderful Godly wife and friend in my life! We craft together and do bible studies together and we are both teachers!

  • My best friend is my granny who has gone home to be with The Lord. She was amazing and taught me so many things. When I had my daughter and son she loved them just like she showed me her love. We took trips , puzzles , planted flowers , bingo , and just spent hours enjoying each others company. She lived to be in her ninties and shared the best stories from when she was a young girl. We called each other best friends forever and I feel so blessed she was mine and I miss hearing her voice and seeing her beautiful face.I know one day I will see my best friend again and that makes me so happy, Thank you Lord for my granny Bernice

  • I have been blessed to have many friends enter into my life who love me & love The Lord – but many of them live far away from me – due to the all too transient nature of having been in academics for far too long & now living in a highly transient military region. But today I spent done good time with a new local “mom” friend with kids near my children’s ages so that we wouldn’t go crazy during this week of spring break. I’ve struggled to connect since having my babies & today was refreshing to share in the joys & struggles of mommy-hood with someone who will be around locally for awhile (I hope & pray!!).

  • My good friend is Ines. I lost a lot of my friends when Jesus became #1 in my life…..we slowly drifted apart….so I started praying for a close friend I could trust and talk to about anything, and 4 years ago he brought me Ines. We had an instant connection, and it continues to grow each year!

  • Hi,
Your message on Proverbs 31 hit hard to my core. Three years ago my best friend of over 25 years ended our friendship via email. Admittedly, I had not been the most wonderful friend as of late to her. Unfortunately I was in a very dark place in my marriage and life. I made some pretty horrible choices. But after 2 years of counseling and working on me I am who I should be. My marriage is thriving, I’m the best mom I can be, and I have learned to take care of me. It is with Gods support and blessing. It took many years to forgive my former friend Noelle. I am still sad that she isn’t able to see the gracious and blessed transformation I have made. It saddens me to know that All those fun laughs and memorable times are just in my heart,I no longer have her to laugh with about our antics of years past. I pray daily God will lead her heart back to our friendship!

  • God has blessed me with my closest friend Tammy. Amazingly he puts people in your life who travel similar paths and literally do life with you! I am so thankful for her and praise God for this blessing!!!!

Sickness to health! Her helping me decorate my house to me helping her with her cake decorating business. We have lost together 117 pounds together!!! We are each other accountability partners. Most importantly she has challenged me in my faith and I have grown in Christ because of her. She is my sister!!

  • My closest friend’s name is Eileen. • I’ve subscribed for a few years and LOVE your heart, Nicki!

I love friendship stuff!! My best friend, whom I’ve known since third grade (we turn 40 this year) has been there in the brightest and darkest of times. I am an only child and I have lost both my parents before turning 30…she and her family have pretty much adopted me (and therefore my husband and son) as their own and I will always appreciate her willingness to laugh with me, cry with me, encourage me, correct me (in love and grace), share books with me, enjoy culture with me, and a bunch of other things. My son looks at her like his true auntie and I know should I leave this earth “early”, she will be there for him. I pray God blesses her in all she does. Thanks for letting me share. • My special friend is my husband. We’re high school sweethearts and he has always been right by my side through some really tough circumstances through all these years. I’m so thankful to have my best friend as my husband. 🙂

  • I have been blessed to have had many great friends in my lifetime. At each place I have lived, God has provided a girlfriend to be there for me for “such a time as this.” I have a job where I am surrounded by great Christian women who are great role models for me and wonderful friends. But God has brought me to a place in life where I need to learn that HE is my one true friend that will always be there for me, no matter what. It’s taking me a while to grasp, but it is gradually coming.

I am already a subscriber to Nicki’s blog!

Thank you for sharing of yourself!

  • I have a very special named Julia. Julia is so sweet and caring, talks deep with me about what really matters, and always has a kind and encouraging word. Her two daughters are the same age as my two daughters and click really well, which makes getting together even more fun than it already is. She is such a sweet friend and I am so blessed to have her!

  • My best friend and I have known each other for over 14 years, and we were close right away. She and I live far apart now, but whenever we see each other it feels like no time has passed. She is kind, and wise, and funny, and brilliant, and I love her.

  • I have to say my husband is my best friend. We have only been together for 5 years, but we have grown so much closer to one another in the past 1 1\2 years only due to booth of us grower closer to God. We both were in church years past, and then both got out and did our “own thing” (away from God). We both had similar situations happen to us – before we knew each other. So I know God brought us together so that we both would come back to Him. And man oh man when we did…Wow!!! God has been at work in both our lives. We are both “Seeing” things new for the first time that He is “reteaching” us. I am so glad I came across Proverbs 31 and you Nicki. Thank you, no, Thank God for you – for giving you the ability to be able to share what He has told you to share with us! I definitely will be subscribing to your blog and Liking those sponsors, (some I already have like before today!) 🙂
    Thanks again!

  • I have been blessed with a few special friends but the first one that came to mind is my friend Linda. We have been friends for almost 42 years. No matter how busy I am or how much time passes between our conversations, she is always right there to help and support me. ..to share my work, my dreams and to share hers as well. Love you Linda! Thanks Nicki! I think I will call her tomorrow! Already subscribed

  • My special friend is my best friend since my Freshman year of college. Kim has been my sentence finisher, pick up where we left off 2 months ago, call at 2 a.m. just to whisper I am scared bestie! I love her.

  • My special friend is Amy J. I have known her about 25 years and when ever I need her she is there. She sat up with me all night the night my dad was dying. She was there for my husbands family as well (which she has known longer than me).

We spent a day this past Christmas cooking goodies all days and it was so AWESOME. I can’t imagine my life without her.

  • Just found your blog from the P31 hop! (& now I’m a new subscriber! – lol) 🙂 Because of circumstances & being so busy with the urgent that I neglected the truly important, I no longer have any “special friends”…and I need to fix this. Thanks for the reminder.

  • I’m truly blessed by a group of friends. I have 5 that I KNOW I can call on at any given moment and they would drop what they are doing in order to have that cup of coffee and get our “smiles” on! God has truly blessed me with the BEST friends!! I am VERY thankful!! BTW: I’m a subscriber and DONT have fb! 🙁

  • I have several very special friends… but one of my most inspiring girls right now is my friend Gretchen who also happens to be a professional counselor. She has been my cheerleader through many a tough day, challenge and change in my life the past five years. She has taught me some very important things in life. So many of which I will carry with me forever. Let it go… Always look for the lessons and don’t focus on the problem at hand. Never lose yourself for anyone or anything. Life is about the journey. You are not alone, God is with you…. and so many more. Happiness is now and I am embracing so many new things this year I’m calling The Mandy Project. Its new and adventurous to say the least! I am rediscovering myself in God through Proverbs 31 and The Lipstick Gospels thanks to the confidence she has given me.

  • My best friend, Adriana. She’s always a great companion!

  • My best friend is my friend Mary. We became close when her mother’s health started declining and then passed. My friend has been a true testament of unconditional love and selflessness. I watched her care for her mother all the way to the end and her own family in the process. (She home schools her children) She’s always helpful, positive, encouraging and loving.A true Proverbs 31 woman There’s nothing that she wouldn’t for me and me for her.I am honored and privileged to call her my BFF and sister in Christ.

  • Christa is the best friend. She was my matron of honor in my wedding. We have been through a lot together!! We can go for a while without connecting and then just pick up where we left off!! She can always count on me and I can count on her!!

  • My husband is my best friend. God have given me such a blessing with my hubby. He has never ever complained about my weight issue. In fact he is concerned I will lose too much. We’ve been through so much in our 23+ years of marriage and still going strong. He has been so supportive through this time in my life and I cannot thank God enough.

I have already subscribed to this blog and have “liked” the FB pages of the friends in this give-away. So I guess I’m entering to win – Thanks!

  • My Dad! He’s both a mom and dad to me, and my biggest role model!!!:)

  • My special friend would have to be the one who stayed with me through my darkest times. He has to be one of the most caring guys I have ever met. I don’t know where I would be without him!

  • The most amazing people in my life are Cheslie, Jessi, and Megan! My life would be drab and boring without these ladies, not to mention filled with this world! They have encouraged me so much on my spiritual walk that I don’t want to know where I’d be without them. I hope to one day have a place where other young women can create friendships/sisterships like these!

  • 1)I some of the most amazing friends a girl could ask for but there is one girl who holds an extra special place in my heart. She is the one friend that as such as I wanted to tell her that “she didn’t need to come and sit with me at the Hospital when my younger brother passed away” I didn’t because I knew she would press me until I told her where I was but besides doing that she also got in contact with our mentor and Pastor and asked them to come up there and check on me!!!

  • God certainly has been working on my heart to forgive a friend who really hurt me and finally just yesterday April 10th, 2014 I sent her this text:

Hi _________________, (Note: For privacy, I did not write her name here as I share)
I’m reaching out in God’s good will, peace n His love. R u up to packing a picnic brunch in near future and join Jesus n I for a time of walking in His footsteps? Follow Him in His way of peace? God has shown me He desires for each of us to take the necessary steps in reconciling our broken friendship. I’ve been praying so much about many things while on my recent trip/personal spiritual retreat in North Carolina—and it’s definitely God’s will that we love one another…and also that we bear with one another…forgiving as He forgives…for love does cover a multitude of sins. He loves us both sooooo much! Immeasurable LOVE! pray and let Jesus and I know your thoughts. (Although since He’s omniscient He already knows both our thoughts:) I’ll prayerfully look forward to hear from u. Blessings, Joy.
and PS. If ur personally not ready to take part in re-building our friendship, take the time u need and when ur ready, I’m ready. Either way, I’ve already placed everything in HIS hands—so all is good and my Shepherd’s great love carries me/us tenderly.

Her response to my text: Sure:) !

So thank you Nicki for the devotion you wrote which was definitely instrumental in helping me take steps towards reconciling with a friend. –bJoy in CA
