Psalm 144:1-2 “Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliver, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.”
The first thing I LOVE about this verse is that the Lord is my Rock! I always love to think about Christ as a rock beneath my feet on whom I stand firmly. I almost like to picture myself GLUED to this rock! =) Then I love how it says, “who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.” It’s so funny because I think of how many times I’ve prayed for God to bless my hands……..yes my hands. Our hands have such an impact on so many different aspects of life! The kind words I can type in an e-mail, the way I clean my home, the gentle touch to a hurt child, dialing a friend who is hurting, writing bible study lessons, earning money….yes, my hands are a huge part of my walk with Christ!
Then I read “He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliver”, yes, God is loving!! He is SO loving. I hear so many times in my life, well, if God is so loving then why does he allow bad things to happen to his people??? The bible never says that God won’t allow bad things to happen, BUT the bible does share with us that God is going to be there to be our fortress, our stronghold and most importantly our deliver!!
So, I just loved that this morning and I thought I would share with you! We had a good weekend. The girls spent the night at my brother’s house. Surprisingly they weren’t as grouchy as I thought they would be! Mom and Dad took Kris, Kennedy and I out to dinner, so that was nice! It’s so different going out to eat with just one child. Kris and I are at the point where we don’t even like going out to eat with all three of them. It’s impossible to enjoy dinner, no matter how many threats we make! It’s not that they are bad, they are just busy. They eat way to fast and then someone always needs to go to the bathroom, or diaper changed, spilling a drink… and it just ends up being a huge mess! =)
Yesterday our Sunday School teacher taught a lesson on Islam, well, he was finishing up a study on Islam. It was really good! I’m so thankful to be apart of that class. God is working in a big way in so many lives! My favorite part is prayer request time, because someone always has something neat to share with how God has done something amazing in their lives. After church I went over to my mom’s house to do some work on her computer and for her to help me with my business and I came home expecting our house to be a wreck…..and to my surprise my husband had cleaned up everything AND did the laundry! I about fell over! It was SO sweet of him. God really has been working in his heart, and it’s very obvious. Some of you reading this may be saying…SO??? He did the laundry??? But, in this house, this is a HUGE answer to prayers, for my husband to be more involved!
Well, I hope you have a very blessed day! Thanks for reading!
