Hope for what it is to come…

So first, do you love this new/permanent look? Thanks so much to my awesome friend, Faith for fixing me up! Please go and visit her if you’d like a new look for your blog! She’s awesome!!

Alrighty, off to today’s post.

It’s a bittersweet week this week. Lot’s of things coming to an “end”. Tonight is my last night of When Wallflower’s Dance the bible study. I have mixed emotions about it. I know tonight it going to be a great time of testimony, worship, inspiration and fun so for that, I am looking foreword to it!

But I am also sad because this has been an incredible group of women to serve in this way. They are so encouraging, so inspiring and so excited about what the Lord is doing in their lives! They make me want to be a better person and shouldn’t that be the effect we leave on everyone? It’s been amazing.

Stop by tomorrow to see the special surprise I’ve put together for them!

Tomorrow is also my last GEMS meeting. GEMS is our mom’s group at our church and this year I have had the privilege of serving these women as the craft extraordinaire! HA! =) It’s been a blast, a lot of work, but a blast!! I had to make a decision as to whether or not I was going to be able to serve next year and I just am not sure how that would’ve panned out with home-school. I will miss that group so much!!

I’ve enjoyed my first year teaching pre-school music, which is also coming to an end in just a few short weeks.

But I will be honest, life has been out of balance. I just can’t seem to “do it all”. Imagine that! =)

Speaking of homeschool, I am struggling.

A Lot.

The Lord has left so much un-answered in my mind about why He put us in this house, in this neighborhood, if it was all to be obedient in keeping our lives simple to send our girls to their Christian school. I am trying to make peace with the decision but it’s not come….yet.

I am learning that the “NOT YET” factor is huge in many lives right now. It’s the hope for what we have to come.

Although I’ve got some exciting thing in the coming year, it’s hard because I feel like so much of my life is being shut down.

I love my girls and I will make whatever sacrifice I have to, to put them first.

Seasons come and seasons go.

As this season ends, I just feel like so much is fading away. So much. (tears)

And I just know that God is asking me for total obedience in the season to come. As much un-known as it holds, He’s asking me to obey. Just obey.

This verse has brought me great comfort over the past few weeks as I’ve known the end to so much was coming. As sad as it is, my soul is excited about where my hope is….and the awesome things I am waiting on the Lord for.

“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.”
-Psalm 130:4-6

One thing I’ve been hopeful for is coming into full-circle and you will know….very soon. =) And I hope that you will hope it’s exciting for you too. (are you sooooo anxious??!!) Much love to you all and I hope you have a blessed day!

Love,
Nicki

ps-Will you pray for this last night of bible study? I covet your prayers and I thank those of you who have faithfully prayed over this journey! You are awesome!!

    Love your new look!!!!!

Oh, the end of things is always the beginning of something new! So while it’s the end of your Bible Study – just keep in mind what God has next for you!!!

  • Bless you Nicki! So many things ending all at once for you! I know sort of what you are feeling about tonight’s Bible study ending. I sure hated to see the last day of our Esther study two weeks ago.

I do pray that your heart will soon be settled one way or the other about homeschooling. We homeschooled our three kids but I’m sure it’s not for everyone. MOST of the schooling comes from the Mom. But a LOT of encouraging should come from Dad or Mom will burn out quickly!

Take care! Looking forward to the surprise you have for us later.

  • Wow…lots of changes coming your way – but God certainly can use change…not only to grow us..but to bless us! Embrace it – and I will pray for your Bible study tonight…that its a blessing, too!!

  • I love the brand new look. Very cute. Did you write the study? I would love to have a copy of it, if you did?? I am praying it’s going well for you tonight. I am going to be in serious prayer about the homeschooling. It sounds like you could have such a great time with the girls and they could learn so much from each other. You are so blessed with this opportunity. Drop me a line. trishw824@gmail.com I will be excited to hear about the finale tonight. How many participated? later, Trish

  • I love the look and I am going to Faith when my job runs down in the next few weeks.

Seasons of life: that’s what comes to my mind as I read your “endings” of different things coming to conclusions in your life.

Make peace with the seasons and be quick to close those God ends and embrace the new ones as He opens them. I’ve known people who couldn’t embrace this truth. It is a sad thing to see people holding onto yesterday’s season year after year.

He will never lead you anywhere but the best place to be.

God bless you tomorrow beautiful Godly mother.

  • Love the new look girl…even if it just ends up being for a little while. 🙂
I do hope that the last night of your Bible study went well and when you get back I look forward to hearing how it went.
And of course I can’t wait to hear the new news.
Just keep your eyes on Him….when our hearts are filled with hope we can endure the night….for we know the morning is coming. He is working the plan…and He will take a willing obedient heart and make sure we arrive on time.
