If you are visiting today from She Seeks, welcome! Today I shared some encouragement about days that just feel…junky. We all have them.
In the article I shared one of my favorite ways to boost my mood is a smoothie recipe and I’m excited to share that recipe with you today.
Over the past few months I’ve been on a journey to get healthy from the inside out. And I’ve been amazed at how much our eating habits effect our moods. After doing a lot of research on food, I’ve cut out most processed food, given up sodas, switched to organic meats, fruits and vegetables.
Its been challenging but I have really noticed a difference in myself and my family.
Here are a few of my favorite blogs who write about eating this way:

Berries are known to be a natural pick-me-up food. The natural sugars in berries give you a quick energy boost and they are filled with all kind of good vitamins and antioxidants.
Smoothies are hard to mess up, they are so simple and you can try out many different recipes to suit your taste. But here’s a smoothie recipe I have come to love:
1 cup strawberries
1 cup blueberries
1 cup of ice
1/2 cup of organic apple juice
1/2 cup of organic milk
1/2 cup of spinach [I know! Yikes! But I promise, you CAN’T taste it!!]
Place everything in a blender and mix until its smooth.
Serves 2
So what tips do you have about eating healthy? Leave a comment today and share them, I’d love to hear them!

I’m cooking for myself full-time for the first time and living on a tight budget with minimal knowledge of healthy eating. Thanks for sharing these sites! I have learned that if I keep yogurt and string cheese on hand, I’m more likely to reach for them (sometimes even over the chocolate). When I was in high school, my late-night snack was ice cream. In college it was gold fish/ Cheeze-its. Now it’s yogurt. My friends are teasing me about how I’m getting healthier as I get older so by the time I’m a mom, I’ll be eating spinach before bed. I guess I’ll start with it in a smoothie. 😉
