We are half-way through this Interrupt journey. Time is flying, isn’t it?
The other day I had an Interrupt experience…
This past year I have taken up photography as a hobby and it has led to some fun opportunities, like taking some pictures for friends and the P31 magazine.
I’m not ready to call myself a photographer so, I just tell people I’m “playing” photographer. 🙂 I still have SO much to learn but I enjoy it.
Well, my amazing friend Samantha asked me to take some pictures of her. So me, her and our friend Melissa headed out to a beautiful barn setting for the shoot.
I was so excited and had a great vision for the picture in this red barn window. I just had no idea bringing this vision to life was going to entail this:
or this:
or THIS:
And I also didn’t think through the thought that Samantha is afraid of heights and allergic to wasps which were flying around…EVERYWHERE. Whoops.
So getting her up and settled in the barn window was interesting. I kept trying to tell Samantha she would be ok and tried to get her excited about the vision I had for this picture. But uh… she wasn’t seeing my vision.
She was seeing a clear vision of her falling flat on her face to the concrete and her face swelling from wasp stings!
Melissa kept fanning Samantha, swatting the wasps [it was so hot up there] and telling her she could do it too. But {in that moment} she just was not seeing that.
What I realized in this moment is something I wanted to share with all of you on this Interrupt journey…
Sometimes, it is hard to see the vision God has for this Interrupt journey. Our fears, busy lives, routines or personal struggles may all be holding us back. But together… as we encourage, pray and believe in each other… I believe we will see God’s vision for our Interrupt journey.
We can’t give up, even when we feel afraid because we are so close… so close.
Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
The other night as I started editing Samantha’s pictures I was thrilled to see that because she was willing to give this a try, we were able to come up with a beautiful picture that fit her personality so well.
Isn’t she beautiful?!
So today, this is a pep-post [and I realize it could be on the brink of blog cheesiness…] but I just wanted to show you a real tangible result of if we don’t give up, press through our fears, stay open and really seek Him… a beautiful thing is in the works.
