Anxious for the bible study to start.
Thank you and have a blessed Easter!
I am looking forward to the study.
I am not able to see the video after I click on the link.
I was able to find the video via Nicki’s fab page!
I am looking forward to the study also. I am hoping to do this with my daughters.
I really liked what Lysa said about not letting compliments go to our heads or criticisms go to our hearts. And the Walmart syndrome is a very good way of looking at life in general. Great session, Ladies!
We are designed to only carry the weight God intended for us to carry. Give the rest to Him & don’t take on others weight! (Paraphrasing my nugget.)
I liked the part on criticism. This is something I struggle with. I am looking forward to this study so much!
I liked the part saying, You can’t have her GOOD without taking her BAD.
It reminds me that there is always more to the story. That good might have been after a bad trial.
We often see comparison as something we initiate, but sometimes we are part of uninvited or involuntary comparison. We need to have a firm foundation in who we are and what we believe in order to combat this with Truth. Always take it back to the Scripture.
Thank you ladies for an excellent discussion on a problem that seems to only be exacerbated by our “instant” society driven by social media levels of acceptance.
2 of my favorite people talking about something I really struggle with! Thanks so much!!! God bless!
I enjoyed the live conversation on comparison yesterday! I’m looking forward to reading Why Her and just started my Embraced devotional today. Thank you ladies!!
Thanks for giving us a chance to win
Easter blessings to you and your family.
Nicki I am so proud of you and so overjoyed to start this study with P31OBS!
Thank you for writing in this topic.
I am looking forward to the study. I was very honored to be a part of the launch team of this book’
This was such a great convo with Lysa! Loved it.
I liked everything Lysa (and you) shared, but things that stood out were to be happy for a person with their articulate gifts and situation, not long to have her life because you don’t know what else she’s dealing with. In other words, if you take the good, you also have to take their bad. Another is to tear down walls. Thank people for their criticism.
So excited for this study!!
This was a great interview. Several things spoke to me this morning.
First, trust God’s timing. I’m praying about a new venture, throwing out fleece, maybe a little running and hiding, but remembering to trust His timing is huge; especially since my word for this year is TRUST.
Second, remembering that I am not designed for someone else’s opportunities, I am designed for mine. This is an area where God has been doing a lot of work. I have many friends that are doing great things, and I know that a few years ago, I would have cried why not me? Now, I’m thankful to say that I know it isn’t my turn. I love championing my friends in their callings. I know when it is my turn, they will champion me in mine.
Maybe I need to write this down to remember it later! Thanks Nicki!
It would be such a blessing to participate in this OBS!
I love Lysa’s balance between criticism and compliments. Such a great reminder. My love language is words of affirmation, so when someone criticizes me, it really hurts. What a great reminder to never use hurtful words towards others. I can’t wait for the bible study!
I am excited for this study. Love Lyra. I’m always comparing myself to others and this is much needed.
I am excited for this bible study!!!
Thank you for your willingness to share…can’t wait to start the study.
Wow thank you for sharing! So excited to learn more about Nicko and your ministry!
Wow thank you for sharing! So excited to learn more about Nicki and your ministry!
Often, I think we see women in ministry from afar and think “oh she’s so perfect and she knows the perfect thing to say!” Why can’t I be like her?? I’m interested to learn what your book has to say about that and learn new ways to defeat those thoughts when they pop up, because we know comparison is not from the Lord. But sometimes it happens anyway.
Thanks for this!! ♥️
I can’t wait for this Bible Study to start! I love Lysa’s advice on knowing what is expected of us.
I would love to win these awsome books!
That part about remembering that the life we see other women lead, we only see in part. We don’t know the whole story. And they don’t know ours. We should never assume someone’s life is easy, or better, based on the little bit of reality we see of it.
“Don’t let compliments go to your head, and don’t let criticisms go to your heart.”
I have this quote printed and framed in my office at work and find myself reading the reminder multiple times a week (if not multiple times A DAY).
I loved the conversation. Love you both and excited to get Lyda’s New devotional today.
I loved the part where. Lysa talked about the fireplace. It spoke straight to my heart and this season I’m in. You have to go through the renovation to be renovated.
I loved this conversation! It was so inspiring and I took 3 pages of notes!!!!!
I can’t wait to start! I ordered my copy through P31 and got a signed copy! So excited! I also bought a girlfriend one so we can do it together.
The biggest nugget I took away (and I took a lot of nuggets away!) was probably the part about owning our OWN opportunities–that we are not meant to be like someone else or to do what they have done. We may want to, but that does not meant we are meant to. I often see others and wish I could do what they do or be where they are. I need to remember God has me EXACTLY here and EXACTLY who I am for a purpose. I want to embrace that and be excited to find out just what exactly that is! Thank you so much for doing this giveaway, and for doing the video. It was just what I needed!
Lysa’s share of not letting compliments go to your head or criticisms go to your heart was indeed a nugget-a golden nugget. There is so much value in that statement and it is one that sticks with you as a gentle reminder to help in the battle with comparison!
Thank you ladies for your obedience!! ????????????
So many amazing resources to use as aids to grow deeper in our relationship with God….so thankful.
It helps me knowing that people like Lysa and Nicki have the same struggles as I do. They have to continue to remind themselves of God’s love. Uninvited came out when I needed it most, and reached the hurt deep inside. I loved when she talked about God giving you situation, and wondering why that was your journey. I loved everything about this!
Can’t wait to read the book!
Love it! Scarcity mentality – so true that God has enough for everyone and something special for each one!
Thank you for sharing 🙂
I love the part where Lysa compares her renovation to life. Sometimes you have to break down some walls!
I really loved when Lisa was talking about her home renovation and our lives like that. It struck me so much for my current stage of life and walk with Christ.
I am so looking forward to this study with you Nicki.
I liked the part about renovation. I definitely feel like I’m in the midst of a renovation myself! Thank you for your conversation and insights!
What I took away most was that God has designed each of us for what he has FOR us. We should not compare ourselves to what someone else has or to their successes. Those people are designed for their personal successes, just like God has designed us for our successes and what he has planned for us. He knows.
Looking forward to read the books,
Thankful for writers like you and Lisa who answered their calling.
I am so looking forward to this study!
Self-comparison can be hard also. Love that Lysa has a new book on the way “It’s Not Supposed to Be this Way” I love what God puts on her heart to share via the gift He has given her.
The Individual is who God really wants to use us with. Persevere through the rejection, is a tough one at times.
There is no scarcity. God is a God of unlimitedness.
I can not wait for this Bible study to start!
Bad always comes with every call. If jealous/want someone blessing you will have thier trouble too
I love Lysa talking about the Walmart Syndrome…..it’s so true! I’m so excited to get started on this Bible Study! I’ll be sharing it with my followers on my business Facebook page with a Sunday Night Facebook Live at Salt and Grace Designs!
I love when Lysa says “Don’t let the compliments go to your head and don’t let the criticism go to your heart.” I’m about to step into a whole new adventure in my life and I’m so excited but worried at the same time about doing well. I can’t wait for this study!
I loved Lysa’s comment to not let compliments go to your head and criticism go to your heart. So important to stay grounded. Thank you for this opportunity to win amazing books 🙂
I have already read chapter one and am learning so much. I’m looking forward to the study and learning more.
I can’t wait to read Why Her! Loved listening to you and Lysa tackle this topic of comparison! I’m bad about comparing myself or my situation to others. Still learning! Thank you!!
I am designed for my own opportunities but that means being all in whatever the opportunity brings.
What a great topic today. Thank you. It’s so easy to compare ourselves to others. And it’s easy to allow criticism to hurt your heart. The opposite of when someone compliments you and not letting that get to your head. great topics ladies. super excited for the book.
This was an awesome conversation to watch! I just love how every assignment God has for each of us comes with the good and the weight of it. Remembering that what she carries could possibly be the very thing we can’t carry takes so much pressure off! And how we are then able to freely encourage and root for our sisters! Love love love!
Loved hearing Lysa share her experience on comparison. You two ladies are a powerhouse for God!!
Powerful! “God loves us too much to answer our prayers in anything but the right time!” is what I needed to hear. I’m going through a trial in which I’m not a good waiter. God is saying “wait” at this time to make me more like Christ.
You both are amazing!! Lysa always has such great insight and still feels relatable at the same time!! I love that her books always make me have those “me too” moments and I’m really looking forward to starting this bible study with you. I can’t wait explore this topic and see what the lord has in store for me through these next several weeks!!
Two of my favorite authors, together yesterday. I love this book Nicki, I needed it more than I originally thought. I cant wait for the Bible study! ????
Enjoyed the conversation with Nicki and Lysa. There were so many good nugguts to me, but one that stood out for me was about criticism. Looking forward to the study and I will be getting a copy of “Embraced”.
Have a blessed Easter!!
So looking forward to this study!
I was really impacted when Lysa spoke about our mindset and wanting what someone else has. God equips each of us to carry the weight of what He has called us to do. We are not equipped to carry the weight (good and the bad) that comes with someone else’s calling.
What a great topic, I can’t wait to read the book
Really looking forward to this study!
I love the idea of understand and adjust expectations on the front end to get ahead of comparison.
Thanks Lysa and Nicki!
I can’t wait for this study to start
My favorite nugget is that God is not of limited provision but God has of unlimited provision & that Her success/provision doesn’t take away from mine.
Looking forward to this study…
I loved the part about criticism, it’s hard Not to take it to heart but when it’s delivered well it’s easier to digest!! I look up to both of you and I’m so thankful for your heart for other women, and your vulnerability!
I’m so excited for this bible study. This conversation on comparisons today is relevant to all ages. I think it’s something we never out grow.
I am looking forward to this study. I loved Nicki and Lisa’s conversation. I especially liked the part where Lisa said that if we don’t get an opportunity, it means that we were not designed for the positive and negative of that situation/opportunity. Thank you!!!
I loved this conversation! Love the “Walmart Syndrome!” I can’t wait for this study to begin!!!! This is going to be amazing! I am so thankful for the P31 community! Thank you Nicki and Lysa! Hope you both have a Happy Easter!
Thank you for the chance to win!
Don’t let compliments go to your head and don’t let criticisms go to your heart~ Lysa Teurkeurst
This is so exciting!!! I love the books from both of you!!!
I really enjoyed attending Abundance in Biloxi and getting to hear you! I look forward to this too!!!!!!!
Awesome fb live…so much truth on comparison…which who doesn’t struggle with at some point?!! Thank you!
One of my favorite nuggets from Lysa was “I don’t want to carry any other weight than what has been designed for me.”
I just love the perspective that I am not meant to do all and be all and there are weights I am not meant to carry. If I was all that everyone else is I would be so weary of the burden of that! Thank goodness I am meant to only carry what mission God has for me!
Comparison is definitely near to my heart. Thank you for speaking on this.
There were so many great little nuggets in this video it was hard to choose just one. You can not have her Good without her Bad is one to remember. I have been told by a friend of mine that she just doesn’t know how I manage to get through all I have been through. So this saying proves why & how lol. God truly is amazing. The other nugget I fell in love with is Lysa’s comments about Renovations. I can not tell you how often I have used something similar to my kids. Every renovation is a stepping stone with lessons. With each lesson learned We climb higher to our completed reno. All we can do is embrace what the Lord has given us in the time frame he knows works best for us & in the waiting period we have plenty of time to work on our patience.
Thanks Ladies for all you do. You are truly an inspiration to me!! Hugs & Prayers!
This was such an awesome duo! Both are so wise, interesting, and full of Christ! We need more of this!
Nicki – I just happened to be scrolling through Facebook and saw the Live when it started. I can’t tell you how encouraging it was to me! I’ve had these feelings of comparison and thought it was just me. I’m so excited to start the Bible study (I signed up after the live). My heart needs this study. Thank you for listening to God and writing it. ❤️
I so appreciate all the wisdom from you and Lysa. Thank you for the encouragement and guidance through God’s word.
I am so excited for this study. Your book is amazing.
Wow!!!! Awesome interview!!!❤️
Loved eavesdropping on your conversation with Lysa Beautiful message!
I just signed up for the study. Excited to start it!
I can’t wait to start this bible study! I am wondering if anyone had purchased the Rachel and Leah Bible study for Teen Girls. I have an 11 year old daughter and the teen book was recommended for ages 12 and up but wanted someone’s opinion if they thought it was ok for her age. I think that if we were both doing a bible study that was along the same lines, it would allow for great conversations about comparisons! Thanks!!
I loved the whole conversation, but the part about rejection and learning what to do about it. I can’t wait for the comparison “Why Her?” bible study. So much to learn!
I liked when Lysa spoke about being ahead of expectations to reduce the formation of comparisons.
Nicki, thank you for being honest and transparent in your own struggle….saying “Me too”! I am so looking forward to this bible study. Many prayers for you as you share what God has laid on your heart.
I am so happy! God lead me to your books and the Proverbs 31Ministries!
