“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
― Eleanor Roosevelt
She’s found her thing.
But it didn’t come easy…
Her teacher sits me down, we have one of those gut-wrenching momma talks. The kind of talk that makes you question everything you’ve ever done as a mom.
I shouldn’t have let her have that paci so long.
I should’ve held her more.
I should have given her more attention when her sister was born.
“Mrs. Koziarz… I just feel like her confidence isn’t there.”
Ouch.
As a mom, fixing boo-boo’s has been easy. Ice, peroxide, and a bandaid. Done. I’ve got that formula down.
But helping a child’s heart? There is so much involved…
So, I began with this, “God, show me how to show her the great things you have for her life.”
This past year has been a process… a slow and trying one. Much like this Interrupt journey.
But today I saw what can happen to a little girl who gets some confidence.
“Write: EAT MY BUBBLES on my back,” as she hands me a sharpie.
I laugh and say, “Ok…”
“I’m swimming like I’m going to London today.”
And in this very interrupted moment, tears filled my eyes. And I look into hers and say, “Yes, you swim like you are going to London today.”
She climbs into the pool, gives me the thumb’s up and swims like she has never swam before.
I am the proudest momma at the pool.
Tonight, I am so inspired to believe that our dreams, our God-interruptions and our hopes are leading us to a place of deep confidence we never imagined. If we will only begin by asking God to show us the “great things [interruptions]” He has for each of our lives.
“Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” -Hebrews 10:35-36

Nicki, this is so awesome!! These “pay-offs” are really what we live for where our children are concerned! It is our “sign” that we have actually done something right! This verse is so important to keep close to our hearts. At times, there is a thin line between confidence in our walk, and what might be perceived as arrogance, or pride. Yes, Confidence in where and who we are in HIS eyes! Again, thank you!
Yes! I hear you, thank you Kim! 🙂
